atmosphere to learn golf
On the playing side of things, I am currently lying 29th on the South Region Order of Merit after 6 events. I have played quite consistently this season, considering the time that I have been able to commit to my game. My best finish being 8th at The Oxfordshire G.C. in the 3G Hartwood Challenge with rounds of 71, 70 (-3).
I have had some good success with a few of my clients. Eric Boileve, up until three months ago when he came to me had struggled to break 80, having held a handicap of 8 five years ago!! After sharpening up his short game, and getting him to focus and think his way around the golf course a little better, he has carded a 75 and is now upset if he doesn't break 80 only after half a dozen lessons!!!!
Another star pupil Danny Wilson, came for an assessment mid April. When we sat down and discussed his goals, he hoped to get down to single figures, in around 12 months. He was playing off 11.3. Last week he shot 43 pts in our Hangover Classic, and is now down to 8.6. He has coped really well with slowing down his rhythm, introducing a pre-shot routine to aid focus, and changing his swing plane slightly. We now have to re-evaluate his goals for the coming months to keep him moving forwards. Which is a great thing to have to do!!!!
